Special Sittings of the Court in 2010
During 2010, the Court of Appeal will be commemorating its Centenary by holding several special sittings of the Court in locations throughout the province. Special Sittings are planned, as noted below, for Victoria, Vancouver, Prince George, Kamloops, and Kelowna. By holding these Special Sittings, the Court hopes to provide opportunities to make the Court better known to all British Columbians. This is an important element of the Centenary celebrations, because the Court of Appeal is the highest Court in the province and has jurisdiction over the entire province. The Court serves, and is accountable to, all residents of British Columbia.

Special Sittings are open to the public as space permits, invited guests of the Court, and all members of the legal profession. Judges and lawyers in attendance should not gown, except those counsel who are speaking at the Special Sitting by invitation.
